Hi!
I’m Melissa Dawn, a leader, creative, strategist, and communicator with a knack for efficiency & creating systems that optimize success. My roles as wife and mom are in my top 3 favorite things, but nothing tops my faith in Jesus - my sanity and salvation. A good chunk of my life centers around marriage, motherhood and ministry, but I love to share ALL things lifestyle. I'm an open book.

I initially started this blog to share my journey in living out faith, relationships, and balancing the pursuit of my passions. Hence: Light, Love, Lyrics.
Light = Faith. My faith in Jesus serves as a constant guide in navigating the ups and downs of life. His word is a “lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” - Psalm 119:105. In other words, I have a built in super bright flashlight that guides me, especially on dark days.
Love = Relationships. I’m a daughter, wife, mom, friend, sister and more. We are all navigating relationships at all times. The goal is to be led by love, but we ALL know that the path to healthily love ourselves and others is a journey.
Lyrics = Passion. My passion is music. It’s the most universal language on earth. It’s the only thing that can get your attention without your permission. Skeptical? Ok - remember that time you hated that song but somehow found yourself singing the chorus anyway? Maybe you randomly find your hands and feet tapping to a beat that you weren’t even consciously listening to. For you it might be photography, cooking or literature. Whatever it is, it’s that thing that makes life sweet, draws you in, and gives you both a resting place for your creativity, and a built in outlet that comes in handy on weary days. You’ll notice I tend to refer to lyrics A LOT.
WHAT BRINGS CLARITY TO YOUR LIFE?
WHAT RELATIONSHIPS ARE YOU NAVIGATING?
HOW ARE YOU GROWING IN LOVE?
WHAT IS YOUR PASSION?
HOW ARE YOU JUGGLING IT ALL?
Some days I’m a master juggler. Other days, I’m dropping balls left and right, but taking L’s as lessons, never losses. Perspective is everything.
I’m sharing what I’ve learned along the way (and am still learning), and I hope you’ll share too, - share your heart, your wisdom, and your growth. It is my hope that the community we build is one of mutual respect and generosity. Let’s share and grow together.
I love you & I’m rooting for you!
